Breastfeeding Diary was a real sanity-saver for me in the first few weeks of becoming a new mum.
It did all the memory work for me - it remembered when I fed my baby, the duration of each feed and the side I last nursed her on (so I knew to start on the opposite side the next time). Yup, I had a baby with an APPETITE, which meant I was up nursing pretty much every hour, which in turn meant I was a sleep-deprived zombie with limited brain battery...
What I Liked About Breastfeeding Diary
- It's a mobile application (for Windows Mobile) so I only needed to keep my phone by me rather than several bits and bobs like pen and paper
- Easy to use – enter name to set up, and operate by touching a left/right and shift (switches side of boob) button.
- It has a Pause button to allow for burps and/or quick nappy changes.
- It automatically adds up total time for the entire feed, for example Right (14) + Left (11) = 25 mins.
- I can choose to see as much or as little details of each feed as I please.
- If I forget to stop recording or have made a mistake, I can correct the information manually.
- Previous Logs kept an archive of everything and having all this information was handy when in discussion with health visitors and doctors.
- It works in the background so I can continue to use the phone for other purposes at the same time.
- It is unlimited in the number of babies you are able to track
- It is cheap at just £1.19
What I Didn't Like
Nothing really.
This is a simple and effective little app.
